An outdoor swimming pool in summer, a magnificent cinema room, a jacuzzi and spectacular views of Mont Blanc... This is just a small list of the assets of this impressive chalet set in its vast garden, just outside Saint-Gervais-Les-Bains.
Overlooking a little-used road, this three-storey accommodation for 14 people offers seven spacious bedrooms. All have en-suite bathrooms and balconies.
The ski bus stops 400 metres away, but you will need a car to make the most of your stay at Rocalillie Lodge. If you come in winter, you will need to equip your vehicle with chains, snow tyres or a 4x4. However, you will be rewarded by the scenery and the many ski slopes accessible in all directions.
If you fancy a bit of pampering, head to the thermal baths in Saint-Gervais, where you can take time out for yourself, whether in the indoor or outdoor pools, or by having a massage.
Whatever time of year you choose to visit, there is no shortage of activities in this beautiful region.
This three-storey chalet sleeps 14 and has seven stylish bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.
The entrance to the chalet is on the ground floor. There is a ski room with heated boot dryer to the right and a large garage to the left. The magnificent living room is in front of you.
After a memorable day in the mountains, you will love to curl up in the big soft sofas in front of a nice fire. You may prefer to enjoy the last rays of the sun on the terrace, or later in the evening, scan the sky for shooting stars. The jacuzzi is also the perfect place to relax.
The contemporary kitchen has everything you need to prepare a real feast: a large hob, conventional and steam ovens, a dishwasher, a wine cooler and a boiling water tap. And you'll have a large central island as a work surface to divide up the chores. The long table will accommodate everyone in the house for meals. You will eat with a view of the terrace and the pool.
And what about watching a movie after dinner? Three more large sofas are waiting for you in the cinema room!
This level also has a convenient laundry room with washer and dryer.
Five double bedrooms are located on the first floor. Spacious, they have access to a balcony as well as a living room, a dressing room, and bathrooms with double sinks, walk-in shower and bathtub.
The last two bedrooms are on the second floor, and the views are even more beautiful! Equally spacious, these rooms are furnished with sofas and their bay gives access to the balcony. They are equipped with large bathrooms with double sinks, free-standing bathtub, shower and separate toilet.
All the rooms have elegant lighting, a television, soft carpets and high quality bed linen. Your nights will be serene and your sleep recuperative in this environment.
THE AREA
Saint-Gervais, located near Combloux and Megève, is part of the Evasion Mont-Blanc ski area. You will also be a thirty minute drive from the Espace Diamant, which consists of Praz-sur-Arly, Bellecombe, Crest-Volant, Flumet, and Les Saisies. This area hosted the 1992 Winter Olympics.
Experienced skiers wanting to spice up their experience will try a night session at the Vallée Blanche. Take this 23 km, 2,000 m (6.5 mi) negative elevation change route with a guide. It will take you through the glacial landscapes of the Aiguille du Midi to the Mer de Glace and will leave you with a unique memory, especially at full moon.
For a change of pace from skiing, try a dog sledding trip, or a snowshoeing trip, which is a short drive from Rocalillie Lodge. Looking for a challenge? Try ice climbing, via ferrata or paragliding.
During the summer season, the mountains are an irresistible paradise for hikers and cyclists. There is so much to see in this varied landscape! Explore the Argentière glacier or follow the 20km Baroque trail from Combloux to Les Contamines-Montjoie, which takes in some of the region's most beautiful Baroque buildings. Look out for marmots on the way!
Want to refresh yourself? Head to the Lac de Passy where you can relax in the crystal clear waters of this mountain stream fed pond, surrounded by wild flowers and offering breathtaking views of Mont Blanc. Take your picnic and relax while the children play on the playgrounds.
A tree climbing course awaits you, as well as pedal boats and mini-golf. On the water, you can practice windsurfing, stand-up paddle and fishing. Everything is gathered to spend a great day with your family.
At the end of an adventurous day, relax your muscles in the pool (spring/summer only) or hot tub at Rocalillie Lodge. Watch the sunset from the deck or gather in the lounge to plan your next day on the mountain.
